About Dan

I believe therapy can be applied as a useful tool for exploration of the self in an engaging, confidential, and non-judgemental platform.

My approach is generally from an eclectic or integrated standpoint, stemming from a pure Person-Centred core initially, whilst implementing modalities such as CBT/REBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis or Psychodynamic, as necessary.

My background is 15+ years in healthcare, specifically working in the area of mental health (low mood, Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia etc) and Dementia. I have a strong passion of working with people living with Dementia, and their families and can provide a specific level of support in this regard.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

I have attended therapy personally in the past and have seen first hand the amazing benefits it can provide. My background is 15+ years in healthcare, specifically working in the area of mental health (low mood, Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia etc) and Dementia. I decided to upskill so I could provide an acute standard of support to the people I was working alongside. I have a strong passion of working with people living with Dementia, and their families, and can provide a specific level of support in this regard. Along with this, I have a lot of experience working with a wide range of people of different age groups, professions and lifestyles, struggling with a multitude of different issues and conditions.

Why do you think integrative therapy is the most effective form of therapy?

Integrative therapy works best in my practice as it highlights the fact that ‘one size does not fit all’ when it comes to individuals issues and difficulties. Building the environment around the person is far more successful than trying to fit the person into a singular modality.

How would you describe your therapy session & approach?

My sessions are best described as warm and engaging. My approach is generally from an eclectic or integrated standpoint, stemming from a pure Person-Centred core initially, whilst implementing modalities such as CBT/REBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis or Psychodynamic, as necessary.
