I kept getting drawn to train to become a therapist, most probably because I love supporting and helping people. Through the initial training and getting therapy for myself that really helped me so I was sold. I therefore committed to the further years of training and I’ve never looked back. They say that ‘If you enjoy what you love then you’ll never have to work a day in your life’ and I feel very lucky that this is where I feel I am now.
The saying 'One Size Does Not Fit All' is true of many things including therapy. Integrative therapy allows me to tailor my work and what I can offer depending on clients' need. All clients are offered the basic conditions of active listening, compassion, interest/curiosity, empathic understanding, non-judgement, acceptance and respect. Then therapy adapts depending on need bringing in different responses, tools, techniques and education as needed. For example I might bring in CBT, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Mindfulness / Meditation & Gratitude or information for better understanding of what's going on and why.
I am grounded and offer a safe, relaxed, confidential & non-judgemental space to work through your issues at your pace. I aim to ensure you feel safe and comfortable to talk about your issues, feel listened, supported, and accepted.
-My first achievement will always be enjoying seeing clients get to a better place through working together -Being in paid work as a counsellor with leading charities since qualifying is quite an achievement in this field as well as running a busy and successful private practice. -Getting referrals from fellow trainees and colleagues and see this as a huge sign of respect for the work I do
