Start with our guided intake, it takes about 3 minutes. We'll ask about your goals, concerns, and context. Then we recommend a personalised pathway with matched specialists. You can also browse specialists directly or take a free screening.

How much does it cost to use Take a Seat?

Browsing clinicians and using our screenings is completely free, and we take no commission or booking fee. Session fees are set independently by each clinician and vary with session length and format, so profiles show POA rather than a number that goes out of date. Contact the clinician directly and they will quote you their current rate.

Many private health insurance plans cover consultations with our listed clinicians. We recommend checking with your provider about coverage for your chosen discipline. Some clinicians can provide receipts and documentation for insurance claims.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellation policies are set by each individual clinician. Most require 24-48 hours' notice. Please check directly with your clinician when booking.

How do you choose your clinicians?

We use our own experience in preventive and mental health care to recommend independent specialists we rate. Every profile shows the professional register the clinician practises under (HCPC, BPS, NMC, GPhC, BACP, GMC or equivalent) so you can look them up yourself. We are a young platform and we do not run background checks or audit clinical outcomes. How is my data protected?

We're fully GDPR compliant and registered with the ICO. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never share your personal information with third parties for marketing. Clinical notes and records are managed independently by your clinician.

What if I have a complaint?

If you have concerns about a clinician, please contact us. You can also contact the clinician's professional regulatory body directly. We take all complaints seriously and may remove clinicians who don't meet our standards.

Do clinicians offer online sessions?

Many clinicians offer online consultations via video call. You can filter for online availability when browsing. Each clinician's profile shows whether they offer in-person, online, or both.

How do I book a session?

Contact the clinician directly through their profile page. Booking and scheduling is managed between you and your chosen clinician, we facilitate the introduction.

Absolutely. You're free to contact any clinician on our platform at any time. There's no commitment or lock-in. If your needs change or you want a different specialist, simply browse and reach out to someone new.

How do I register as a clinician?

Visit our 'For Clinicians' page to express interest. You'll share your professional registration details, your specialisms and a portrait photo. We write your profile in plain English, link your register entry, and publish once the photo meets our portrait standard (at least 800px on the short edge, 4:5 crop). Enquiries go straight to your own contact or booking link at your full rate.

Can I register a clinic with multiple practitioners?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer clinic registration where you can manage multiple practitioners under one organisation. Each practitioner gets their own profile, and you get a clinic dashboard to manage your team.
