What behaviour change coachs do at Take a Seat

Behaviour change coaches apply structured models, COM-B, the behaviour change technique taxonomy, motivational interviewing and implementation intentions, to health goals that have already failed once or twice. The value is in diagnosing why the previous attempt collapsed before designing the next one.

    Frequently asked questions

What is a behaviour change coach?

A behaviour change coach uses evidence based models such as COM-B and the behaviour change technique taxonomy to work out why a health behaviour is not happening, then designs a plan that removes the specific barrier.

Is behaviour change coaching evidence based?

The underlying models are well evidenced in health psychology. The coaching itself is only as evidence based as the practitioner, which is why we ask coaches to name the techniques they use and how they measure results.
