What sleep coachs do at Take a Seat
Sleep coaches deliver structured CBT-I programmes (typically 4 to 6 sessions), assess sleep environment and circadian factors, and coordinate with clinicians where comorbidities (apnoea, restless legs, anxiety) need referral.
Who we're looking for
- CBT-I trained practitioners (BABCP-accredited or equivalent CPD)
- Behavioural sleep medicine background preferred
- Comfortable interpreting actigraphy and consumer wearable data
- Strong outcome-tracking discipline
Qualifications and registration
- Recognised CBT-I or behavioural sleep medicine training
- Underlying clinical or coaching qualification
- Minimum 2 years' practice with insomnia clients
- Professional indemnity insurance
Responsibilities
- Deliver structured 4 to 6 session CBT-I programmes
- Assess and address sleep environment, circadian and behavioural factors
- Refer to medical sleep specialists where indicated
- Track outcomes via validated measures (ISI, PSQI)

Do I need to be a doctor or nurse?
No. CBT-I is delivered by appropriately trained psychologists, therapists and coaches. We refer medical sleep complaints (suspected apnoea etc.) to physician partners.
