    FAQs

What's the difference between a sleep clinic and CBT-I?

A sleep clinic investigates causes (apnoea, restless legs, circadian issues) and can arrange sleep studies. CBT-I is the NICE-recommended first-line treatment for insomnia and can be delivered by a trained therapist or via a validated app like Sleepio.

Do I need a referral for a private sleep study?

No. You can book directly with a Take a Seat sleep clinician who will arrange home sleep testing or refer you for an in-lab study if needed.

    Is chronic insomnia treatable?

Yes. Most people see meaningful improvement within six to eight sessions of CBT-I - stronger long-term evidence than sleeping tablets and no dependency risk.

    Not sure where to start?

Answer one question and we'll match you to the right pathway.
