About Julie

I am a person centred counsellor who qualified in 2015. I have a wide range of experience having worked for Samaritans, volunteered as a counsellor at Macmillan Cancer Resource Centre and set up my private practice in 2016.

I strive to provide a calm and safe environment for clients to talk through any issue.

I want the clients to determine their own goals and will support them to achieve them.

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

I choose to become a therapist as I have seen first hand the impact having someone to talk too in a safe environment with no fear of judgement can have.

Why do you think integrative therapy is the most effective form of therapy?

This enables me to tailor the approach used to the client and what they needs are.

How would you describe your therapy session & approach?

I am a person centred counsellor but I am trained to use different approaches depending on what is right for the client. I can offer CBT or psychodynamic but the client will always be at the centre and determine what outcomes they want to achieve.

What are your Top 3 professional achievements so far?

I have qualified as a counsellor and gained experience at Macmillan. I have applied for accreditation, having worked enough hours for this. I have worked as a listener for Samaritans for about 3 years.
