My curiosity lies within exploring your current challenges, what may be keeping you in the past, what may be enabling your current struggles and how you can utilise your strengths to help you to move forward.
Counselling can help you to gain perspective and to become aware of the importance of self-care and self-compassion. understanding coping mechanisms and challenging assumptive thinking. By achieving a better understanding and enabling challenge to do or see something different. Perhaps counselling could help you, move forward?
I often struggled with the question of 'what do you want to be when you grow up?' My response was always 'an adult'. I don't think I made a conscientious decision to become a therapist, it was never my 'plan' until,,,,
I found myself a single parent of two very young children, I wanted to have 'something' for me. I loved being a mum, but I also wanted to provide for them, so I began to look at returning to education, and found an Introduction to Counselling course - and I was hooked. Four years later, I qualified!
I was able to really look at my own emotional wellbeing, explore and accept my past, appreciate (and challenge) the now, and consider the positive 'what if's' in my future.
Why do you think integrative therapy is the most effective form of therapy?
I believe that integrative therapy allows a personalised approach, using different techniques to benefit a client.
How would you describe your therapy session & approach?
Having 18 years of Counselling experience, working with Adults, Children & Young People, I understand how important it is to find the right therapist for you. For this reason, I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation, before you make a financial commitment.
There is no obligation to book following a free telephone consultation. However, should you decide that you would like to work with me, I will email a counselling contract and privacy statement.
I offer an integrative approach, as it enables me to draw on a number of therapeutic approaches. I recognise that a one-size-fits-all therapy approach does not meet the needs of individuals, so I will work with you to find out how I can best support you.
My approach includes self-directed goals, creativity and CBT techniques. I am also a qualified LEGO Therapist.
I offer face to face at my home in Stoke On Trent, these sessions can be arranged following a free consultation, subject to availability. Please note, I am committed to ensuring COVID-safety, at all times.
